Ingredients to make Ceviche Panamanian style:
- ½ kilogram of shrimp
- ½ kilogram of white fish
- ½ kilogram of fresh clams in their juice
- 2 onions
- 1 coriander leaf
- 1 chombo or habanero pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 7 lemons (juice)
- 1 splash of Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 pinch of salt
How to make Ceviche Panamanian style:
Before starting with the preparation of our fish and shrimp ceviche, we must prepare all the ingredients. The shrimp must be very clean, for the fish preferably use sea bass or grouper and cut it into cubes, although any white fish will do. Finely chop the onion, coriander and chili. As for the lemon, we will need a cup of juice more or less. Then we start by placing the shellfish and fish in a container, preferably glass, and we add the lemon juice and vinegar. We remove everything with a wooden or plastic spatula, with this we make sure to keep the product fresh. Then add the onion, coriander and mustard. We continue mixing and then season with the rest of the spices and salt to taste.
Remember that the spice is optional, so stir everything well and add ingredients until the ceviche is to your liking. Then we let it rest for at least 4 hours so that the fish and shellfish marinate well.
Tip: It is best to leave the Panamanian ceviche overnight, so the seafood and fish will absorb the flavor of the spice.
Enjoy the authentic Panamanian-style ceviche accompanied with a cracker or some toasted bread and a cold beer.
