Ingredients to make Venezuelan Chicken Salad:

  • 1 unit of chicken breast
  • 3 units of Carrot
  • 5 units of potato
  • 1 can of peas
  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 unit of green apple
  • 1 splash of lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 unit of hardboiled egg

How to make Venezuelan Chicken Salad:

To make this delicious Christmas recipe, the first thing you need to do is prepare the ingredients. First, wash, peel and cut the potatoes and carrots into small squares. Wash and cut the apple in the same way and drain the peas.

With the ingredients in order, the next step in this Christmas recipe will be to cook the chicken in a traditional way, as if to make a broth. To do this, place the piece of chicken in a pot with water, a leek, a piece of onion and a cube of concentrated broth and cook for approximately 1 hour.

Then, drain the chicken and shred it into small pieces and reserve, to make these, wait for it to cool down a bit so as not to hurt you. You can reserve some of the broth to mix with the mayonnaise later. Next, cook the carrots and potatoes in boiling water with a pinch of salt. Add the carrot first and after a few minutes, the potatoes. Cook over low heat making sure they are soft but consistent, if you let them sew more than necessary they will turn into a puree.

Put all the ingredients for the chicken salad in a large bowl, the potatoes, the carrots, the peas and the chicken and mix until evenly distributed. Then add the mayonnaise and integrate it into the salad, stirring in an enveloping way until all the ingredients have been completely bathed.

Tip: If you wish, you can mix the mayonnaise with a couple of tablespoons of the chicken broth. This will make the chicken flavor a little more intense.

Let it rest and finally add the chopped hard-boiled egg as decoration. Store in the fridge.
