It seems that the warmth is back to stay and what better than a delicious tomato and fresh mozzarella capers salad to cool off. This today is a classic of Italian cuisine and also in my house, where we often eat it when the good weather arrives. In addition to being delicious, this tomato and mozzarella cheese salad is ideal for its quick and easy preparation. With only three ingredients plus a quick dressing, we have a perfect Italian mozzarella and tomato salad for me: the combination of flavors is simply wonderful. Ideal for a light dinner or as a starter. Try it.
Ingredients to make capers salad with tomato and fresh mozzarella:
- 1 large or 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 bag of fresh Mozzarella of 150 grams (better if it is buffalo)
- 14 fresh basil leaves
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
How to make Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella Capers Salad:
The first thing we are going to do to prepare this tomato and fresh mozzarella capers salad is to wash the tomato(s) and cut them into rather thin slices. Next, we cut the fresh mozzarella into slices. Although I have used this ingredient to make the tomato and cheese salad, you can use any other fresh cheese that you like. Next, we assemble the mozzarella and tomato salad by placing about two slices of cheese (according to size) on each slice of tomato (previously salted to taste) and finish with some basil leaves.
Finally, we dress the capers tomato and fresh mozzarella salad with a good olive oil, better if it is extra virgin, and serve. It couldn’t be easier, faster to prepare, or more delicious. For me it is the perfect dinner now that the heat is coming, along with a little bit of ham, for example, and a glass of wine.
