Capers are fruits that, although they come from Asia, are widespread throughout the Mediterranean and are widely consumed, especially in Italian cuisine. At the same time, capers are a very healthy ingredient to add to summer salads.

We propose a very simple tomato salad, with healthy and light ingredients. If you want to know new summer recipes, don’t move and we’ll show you the step by step of this tomato and caper salad?

Ingredients to make Tomato and Caper Salad:

  • 1 unit of Tomato
  • 2 tablespoons of Capers
  • 2 tablespoons sweet corn
  • 1 unit avocado
  • 6 squirts of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt

To decorate (optional)

  • 6 units of black olives

How to make Tomato Caper Salad:

We gather all the ingredients to make the tomato and caper salad. Remember that as it is a light salad you can include it in your diet menu without problems. Cut the tomato into slices, finely. For this dish we have used salad tomatoes, the ones that are tighter. Peel and cut the avocado, removing the central bone. Arrange the tomato and avocado in a circular shape, as indicated in the image.

Tip: If you are going to take a while to consume the salad, we recommend putting a few drops of lemon on the avocado so that it does not brown.

It’s time to add the capers to this tomato salad. Capers are rich in fiber and vitamin C. In addition, they are diuretic and digestive. Finally, we add the sweet corn and season with a little salt and virgin olive oil. We can serve the tomato and caper salad with some black olives to give it more color.
