Ingredients to make Spinach Salad with Strawberries and Goat Cheese:

For the salad:

  • 1 package of spinach (preferably baby type)
  • 2 cups of sliced ​​strawberries
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 150 grams of goat cheese in small pieces

For the dressing:

  • 50 milliliters of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 10 grams of dried tarragon
  • 1 pinch of garlic (preferably powdered)
  • 1 pinch of mustard powder

How to make Strawberry Goat Cheese Spinach Salad:

Arrange and prepare the ingredients and utensils on the work table. To do this, wash all the vegetables and fruits, slice the strawberries into thin slices, cut the goat cheese into small pieces, chop the nuts or cut them in two and measure the rest of the ingredients. Mix the olive oil with the balsamic vinegar to start preparing the strawberry spinach salad dressing. Then add the sugar, tarragon, onion and garlic powder and mustard, stirring well. On this occasion, since I couldn’t get the garlic powder or the onion powder, I used them raw. So that the result is similar to the desired one, I cut garlic and a small piece of onion (equivalent to 1 teaspoon) very finely. Then, using a mortar and pestle, I crushed them together and added them to the dressing.

Gently mix spinach, strawberries, walnuts and goat cheese in a large bowl. Pour the dressing over the fresh salad.

Done! A colorful, fragrant, fresh salad, with acid and sweet notes, a dairy touch and the unmistakable hallmark of a sweet and sour dressing. Undoubtedly, this spinach salad with strawberries and goat cheese is ideal to accompany main dishes, such as grilled chicken marinated with orange and lemon or vegetarian options such as seaman curry with vegetables, or as an appetizer.
