At home we love oranges and tangerines, so much so that when their season arrives I cannot resist the temptation to include them in my Christmas salads I teach you this time how to prepare one of these salads full of contrasts thanks to its ingredients and that is also very healthy and can be prepared in just a few minutes. Take good note that this orange and walnut salad with feta cheese is also for winter and of course, it has a place on Christmas tables.
Ingredients to make Orange and Walnut Salad:
- 1 lettuce
- 250 grams of feta cheese
- 2 large oranges
- 1 can of anchovies
- 1 handful of raisins
- 1 handful of croutons
- 6 walnuts
- 1 handful of salad seeds
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pinch of garlic powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of aromatic herbs for salad
How to make Orange Walnut Salad:
We start by dividing the lettuce to our liking, washing it and centrifuging it very well so that it releases all the water. If we don’t have a centrifuge, we can leave it in a traditional drainer. And meanwhile we peel the oranges and cut them into cubes. We put them in a wide source.
Drain the oil from the anchovies and cut them into smaller pieces that we add to the salad bowl. Add the well-drained lettuce and a handful of the seeds that we want and another of raisins. Dress the lettuce and orange salad with the herbs, the garlic powder, the salt and the olive oil. We remove very well.
Tip: Be careful with the salt that the anchovies and cheese already have and we should not overdo it.
Crack the walnuts and roughly chop them with your hands. We also split the feta cheese into cubes and reserve.
Just before serving, add the cheese, the walnuts and a handful of croutons, mix the orange and walnut salad, taking care not to break the cheese, and bring it to the table immediately. Bon Appetite!
