How to make Hummus without tahini or tahini:
To make our hummus without tahini, the first thing you should do is gather all the ingredients. Keep in mind that sesame seeds are an optional ingredient, so if you don’t have them on hand don’t worry.
Also remember that if you want you can make fresh chickpeas following the traditional instructions for cooking chickpeas, as we show in the recipe for sautéed chickpeas with ham. Pour all the ingredients into the jar of the blender or food processor you normally work with. Reserve a few sesame seeds for decoration.
Remember that if you use canned chickpeas it is very important to wash and drain them beforehand. Now grind the whole thing until you get a homogeneous paste, the idea is that the homemade hummus is uniform, without any piece of chickpea in sight.
You can correct the consistency by adding more water or oil to taste. Also correct the seasoning with a little salt and pepper if necessary.
Tip: There are people who like to add lemon or olives to give an extra touch of flavor to hummus without tahini.
When you have it ready you can refrigerate until serving time, although we recommend eating it immediately to enjoy all its flavor. When serving the hummus without tahini, place all the pasta on a flat plate and make a few grooves with the help of a spoon, then add a little olive oil and sprinkle the reserved sesame seeds on top.
Now that you know how to prepare hummus without tahini or tahini, you can do it and serve it during a party or meeting with friends and if you want, you can combine it with other flavors, such as pea hummus or colorful beet hummus.
